About the Ferries

Fushigoe Port Ferry

There are 3 sailing routes for the ferries: one bound for Shiraishi-jima Island, another going to Kitagi-shima Island, and the third for Kitagi-shima Island via Shiraishi-jima Island. All of them depart from the Fushigoe Port on the Kasaoka mainland.
Regular passenger vessels arrive at the same port on Shiraishi-jima Island. But, their arrival point is on the other side of the ports for Kitagi-shima Island, Toyoura-Kanafuro and Kanafuro. You may need to be careful of this depending on your destination.
The ferry bound for Shiraishi-jima Island is operated by Sanyo Kisen. The one going to Kitagi-shima Island is the Daifuku Maru, operated by Kasaoka Ferry, while the ferry for Kitagi-shima Island via Shiraishi-jima Island is the Kanafuro Maru operated by Setouchi-Cruising.

  • Ferries leaving from the Kasaoka mainland depart from Fushigoe Port.
  • There are ferries bound for Shiraishi-jima Island, Kitagi-shima Island, and Kitagi-shima Island through Shiraishi-jima Island.
  • All of the ferries carry automobiles. (Separate fares apply. Check the Table for Special Cargo Fares for the sailing route.)
  • Bicycles, motorized bicycles, and motorcycles can be brought aboard as “Special Cargo.” (Separate fares apply. Check the Table for Special Cargo Fares for the sailing route.)
